Volunteer Income Tax Assistance
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $56,000 or less, persons with disabilities and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.

Does my spouse need to be present at the time of the appointment?
If you are filing jointly, yes; both of you will need to sign the return. If you are filing separately, no; you will sign the return we prepare for you, and your spouse will sign her/his own return.
My household income is over the 56,000 guideline; can you still help me?

When will I get my refund?
If a refund is due, the IRS should process and disburse it to you within 21 calendar days.
