Position Description: The Client Education Coordinator is a full-time position that works directly with current and potential clients and partners to ensure they receive the best possible experience with the organization. It supports both Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax programming and the WBC (Women’s Business Center).  The Client Education Coordinator will report to the Director of Education + Resources and work closely with the other program directors and the Education + Resources Project Manager. The position also serves as the first and often primary support link between the organization and clients, and recruits participants for all programming at The Iowa Center. This position shares responsibility in managing the front office with several other staffers.

 

Duties:

  • First point of contact and triage for all potential and current clients
  • Ability to coordinate one-on-one trainings + business counseling for current clients
  • Education + resource support for current clients (thru VITA and WBC)
  • Field visits to partner sites (for VITA and WBC)
  • Recruitment of future clients, through outreach, marketing, workdays at the Evelyn K. Davis Center
  • Development and management of tax scheduling for all tax clients
  • Assistance in tax planning and preparation
  • Lead, facilitate and teach group workshops
  • Management of interns and The Iowa Center’s intern program
  • Ability to work with clients and provide services, as necessary

 

Organization:

  • Marketing and Outreach of programs to potential clients and partners
  • Assist in planning events, classes and recruiting clients for programming
  • Coordinate distribution of marketing materials
  • Compile and submit regular reports for both VITA and WBC programming, including end of season reports, with major statistical results of campaigns
  • Track data, meetings, and in-kind donations

 

Education:   Undergraduate degree in education, social services, public administration, communications, business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have a positive attitude, sense of humor, and the flexibility to adapt
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, experience in Photoshop and InDesign and plus
  • Strong writing and communication skills, attentive to detail
  • Some experience with marketing plans and working with the press
  • Must be able to work the occasional evening and weekend
  • Spanish language proficiency a plus
  • Must have proven interpersonal relationship skills and negotiation skills to maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, and clients
  • Must be flexible to meet high demands of program and willing to work flexible hours
  • Self-starter with sound decision making skills
  • Creative thinker with planning and evaluation skills
  • Ability to provide small group training and facilitation
  • Ability to develop/maintain positive relationships with diverse populations
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized and capable of meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated decision-making and leadership skills
  • Ability to grasp new ideas quickly
